Hi Pastor James: I wanted to
write to tell you about what happened about 8 years ago that I know
for a fact was and remains a Miracle. They come in the
strangest ways...so,
I had survived cancer
in 1982 and it came back in late 1999. I was at work the day
before surgery scheduled at the hospital to remove the cancer when a
customer came in with his daughter, a little girl about 8 or 9 year
old.
As they were leaving
my office, the little girl tugged on her dad's arm and asked him if
she could pray for me. It turned out that this customer was a
Preacher and not only did they have no way to know I was sick, they
also did not know that I'm Jewish.
Anyway, I didn't
want to hurt her feelings, didn't feel good at all so I knelt down
to her level and said something like "sure honey, I'd love you to
pray for me".
She just started
talking to Jesus, like he was a friend and said I know you're really
busy up there Jesus and have lots of things to do, but this lady
needs to know that you're here. That was it, I thanked them
for their business, gave her a kiss on the head for the prayer.
Counting back
exactly 19 hours between the time that child prayed to Jesus for me,
a Jewish person and her having no idea that I was sick, the cancer
was gone. I went in the next morning, went through all the
pre-operation stuff and the nurse came in and said it was just gone!
Now it took me a few
days to count back those 19 hours, but there is no way that child
knew me, my illness, my heritage or anything about me was anything
short of a Miracle.
Since then, I try to
remember to look for the Angels and Miracles, but times are hard so
I forget a lot until reminded by someone else's story about a
Miracle. Maybe my story will remind whoever's reading this
that Miracles really do happen and by the way, the cancer never came
back!
