This sounds like a normal weather change, and even though I was
there, I saw it and stayed until then end, even I can still believe
it. It all happened so fast...Just
another Sunday afternoon of playing at the lake - but this Sunday
was a fishing contest so lots of boats, big & small were on the
water. It was just starting to get dark, & I started
getting ready to go home because momma was calling us for dinner,
her end of church Sunday, best fried-chicken dinner none of us
wanted to miss..
Right about then, I saw a little canoe way
out in the lake that was getting sent up-river towards the bigger
part of the lake right where all the other boats were still fishing
for that contest and there were bigger waves.
About that time, an old lady came close-by
praying really quiet, holding her Cross on her necklace & just kept
saying 'please Jesus, please bring my babies back in'. The
girls big brother, about 12 year old, jumped into another small
canoe & started padding like crazy but the current was against him
and he's was going nowhere fast.
Now it was really getting dark, so dark I
could barely see the little girl's canoe in-between the choppy waves
& they were still getting sent up-river & I knew the fishing boats
would never seem them. It was gonna' be a bad one, maybe make the
news tomorrow.
Just about then, the wind shifted and I mean
shifted opposite the direction it had been blowing all day & before
the older 12-year old big brother could make his way out of the
docks, this little canoe just floated into the docks with the 2
girls - but here's why I think this was a miracle from Jesus.
As soon as they were inside our docks, the
wind went right back to blowing the same direction it had all day
long. I think that lady's prayer to Jesus to bring her babies
back in were answered that day because everything in this story,
took about 20 minutes from beginning to that happy end.
